PTC Arbortext Layout Developer 12.1.1.0

The Arbortext Product Development team is pleased to announce the availability of Arbortext Layout Developer 12.1.1.0 is an automated publishing engine that handles complex layout requirements and supports post-composition changes to content, formatting and layout.

The major improvements since the last major release version (12.0) are:
Layout Editor Support
- Create ALE documents, templates, and namespaces (.3ld, .3lf, .3ln)
- Command line argument (-alewarning) to generate warnings in the error log when using protected features
- Save add-on libraries for ALE
Debugger Improvements
- Debugger resources panel updated to support drag and drop, context menus, and sort ordering
- Debugger security configuration including unique URIs, remote connections, and certificate support, in security.3ad
UI Improvements
- Toolbars support added to FOM
- Insert Markup feature to define simple user actions for inserting custom strings
- Yellow bar edit tools and text properties
Other Enhancements
- Updated core libraries to include security fixes
- MathJax library updates
- Added scaling options to pseudofont "map" commands, and new "mapglyph" command, and change pseudo-bold and italic properties
- Added support for cutting guides and bleed strings to sprint control streams and print dialog
- Perl is no longer installed, but can still be used with the -R command line argument
Fixes in 12.1.1.0:
- Fixed OpenType kerning and RTL formatting issues
- Added OpenType shape shifting control stream to allow fine-grained control over glyph placement
- Fixed issue when a page sequences stop when a psequp immediately follows a pseqdown with no parent page sequence (SPR 9521679)
- Added mode to extend underline rules when characters are kerned outside the rule (SPR 10776261)
- Fixed x3b2:layout PI when the properties require quotes (SPR 12647162)
- Fixed -alewarning command line parameter to work from the command line and not just sargsw.3ad
- Fixed issue with accolades are ended in a table cell that overflowed (SPR 6370282)
- Allowed PDF Form, Media, Action, and U3D tags to be created from a script in ALE (SPR 12570144)
- Fixed crash with tcutx when using PE to publish through ALD (SPR 12570631)
- Fixed issue with underline ignoredir flag in RTL text (SPR 6659287)
